Pricing

What will my project cost?

Honest answers about what drives the price of a landscape, patio or outdoor kitchen in Pinellas County, and how to get the most from your budget.

Cost drivers

What moves the number

Six things decide most of the price of a landscape or hardscape project. Knowing them makes it easier to compare quotes.

Size and layout

Square footage matters, but so does shape. Curves, steps, seat walls and multiple levels take more cutting and labor than a simple rectangle of the same size.

What's under the surface

Pavers last when the base is right: excavation, compacted base rock and edge restraint. Sandy Pinellas soil, low spots that hold water, and old concrete to remove all change the prep work.

Materials

Concrete pavers, travertine and shell stone sit at different price points, and so do plant sizes. A 3-gallon shrub and a 15-gallon one look very different on day one and on the invoice.

Access

If equipment can drive into the backyard, the job goes faster. Tight side yards, fences and pool cages mean more work by hand.

Utilities and trades

Outdoor kitchens and fire features often need gas lines, electrical circuits and sometimes water. That work is done by licensed trades and usually needs permits and inspections.

Permits, HOA and drainage

Pergolas, gas and electrical work generally need permits. HOAs may require drawings or specific materials. Fixing drainage before you build adds cost up front and saves money later.

Budget tips

Ways to make your budget go further

Build in phases

Design the whole yard once, then build the patio this year and the kitchen next. Nothing has to be torn out later.

Spend where you'll feel it

Put the better material where you sit and walk barefoot, and simpler options along side yards and paths.

Choose smaller plants

Florida-friendly plants grow in fast. Starting with smaller sizes can cut the planting budget without changing the design.

Reuse what's sound

A solid existing slab or patio can sometimes be overlaid or extended instead of demolished. We'll tell you honestly if it's worth keeping.

Questions

Pricing questions

Why don't you list a fixed price for a patio or kitchen?

Because two patios of the same size can need very different prep work, materials and access. We'd rather give you a real number for your yard than a low teaser price that grows later. A free visit or a photo is the fastest way to get one.

Is the consultation free?

Yes. The on-site visit and estimate are free, with no obligation.

What does a line-item proposal mean?

Your proposal breaks the project into parts, such as prep, base, pavers, planting and lighting, each with its own price. You can see exactly what you're paying for and decide what to phase or change.

Do you offer financing?

We don't offer financing at this time. Many homeowners spread the cost by building in phases instead.
