In Pinellas County the backyard is usable most of the year, and an outdoor kitchen is how a lot of families end up living out there. We design kitchens you’ll actually cook in: the right counter space, storage, and utilities, in materials that stand up to sun and salt air. The patio, shade, lighting, and planting around it are planned as one project.
What we design and build
- Custom outdoor kitchens laid out around how you cook, with prep, cooking, and serving zones
- Grill islands and bar counters with seating
- Sinks, refrigeration, and storage sized for the way you entertain
- Gas and electrical work done by licensed trades, with permits and inspections
- Fire pits and fire tables set into the patio or seating area
- Lighting for cooking after dark and for the dining area
- The paver patio everything sits on, pergola shade overhead, and the planting around it
Built for Pinellas conditions
Heat and UV. Summer sun is the main reason a Florida patio sits empty. We orient shade to where the afternoon sun comes from, choose lighter surface materials that stay cooler underfoot, and pick finishes and fabrics that hold up under UV.
Salt air. Homes near Clearwater Beach, the Intracoastal, and Tampa Bay or Boca Ciega Bay in St. Pete deal with salt air that corrodes ordinary hardware and appliances. We specify materials for your exposure, such as marine-grade stainless, masonry, and coated aluminum, rather than whatever is cheapest.
Wind and storms. Any shade structure over the kitchen needs real footings and rated connections for Florida wind (see pergolas). We also plan which parts of a space should come down or be secured before a storm. Our hurricane season yard prep guide covers the checklist.
Sandy soil and drainage. A kitchen island or shade-structure footing is only as stable as the ground under it. In Pinellas sand with a high water table, we plan foundations, slab or paver base, and drainage together so water doesn’t collect under counters or along the house.
Permits and inspections. New gas lines, electrical circuits, and many fixed structures require permits in Clearwater, Largo, and St. Petersburg, and the rules differ by city and scope. We confirm what your project needs before construction, licensed trades handle the gas and electrical work, and inspections are scheduled at the right stages. Before digging, we call 811 to have underground utilities marked.
Fire features. Gas fire tables and fire pits give you flame at the turn of a valve, without smoke or embers, but the gas line needs a permit and a licensed installer. Wood-burning pits need safe clearance from the house, overhangs, and plantings, and local fire rules or HOA covenants may limit them. We’ll help you choose what fits your space.
HOA review. If you have an association, we prepare drawings and material selections for architectural review so approval doesn’t hold up the schedule.
How a project works
- Free on-site consultation. We ask how you entertain (a few people or a crowd, cooking or mostly lounging) and look at sun, views, drainage, and utility access.
- Design and quote. You get a layout, material selections, and an itemized proposal. If you’d rather build in phases, we plan the rough-ins now so later phases go smoothly.
- Build. Permits where required, then hardscape, structure, utilities, finishes, and landscaping, coordinated on one schedule.
- Care. We walk you through cleaning, appliance and finish care, and storm prep for the space.
