Paver Patios & Driveways in Largo

Right-sized patios and driveways, properly built, 15 to 20 minutes from our shop. No runaround.

Most Largo paver work is practical: a patio sized for weeknight dinners and Saturday cookouts, a driveway that replaces cracked concrete, a walkway that replaces the worn path to the front door, a pad that keeps the trash cans or trailer off the grass. Nothing precious, just surfaces that work and won’t sink.

The base spec doesn’t shrink with the budget

A small patio fails the same way as an expensive one if the base is skimped on: wavy by year two, puddling by year three. Every Largo patio gets full excavation, compacted crushed-concrete base, screeded sand, and edge restraint. We’d rather trim square footage than trim what’s underneath, and we’ll say so in the quote.

Driveways and parking pads

A driveway, or a pad for a trailer, boat, or extra car, carries vehicle weight every day, so it gets a deeper excavation and a thicker compacted base than a patio, plus a laying pattern that holds up to turning tires. Work at the street end, such as the apron, the right-of-way, or a new or widened curb cut, generally needs approval from the City of Largo, so we confirm requirements before we schedule. We grade every driveway so water runs toward the street or a planned drain, not back toward the garage.

Built around family life

Largo is 15 to 20 minutes from our Clearwater shop, so materials can be staged and work days kept tight. We plan gate access, pet containment, and play-area detours before demolition day, not during it. In HOA and 55-plus communities, we also confirm the association’s approval and contractor rules before we schedule.

Old irrigation, found and fixed

Many of Largo’s established neighborhoods have older irrigation lines running right where a new patio or driveway wants to go. We locate and reroute lines during excavation, cap them properly, and note them on your plan, so you don’t end up with a hidden leak under new pavers.

Drainage on low ground

On the west side near McKay Creek and the harbor, where the 2024 storms brought flooding, we pay extra attention to grade. A patio should shed water away from the house, not hold it against the slab, and a driveway shouldn’t funnel runoff into the garage. Permeable pavers are an option where soil and site allow. Questions

Paver Patios & Driveways in Largo: FAQs

What does a typical Largo patio or driveway project cost?

Size, paver line, demolition, and access all affect the price, so we quote after seeing the property. We'll also tell you when a smaller, better-built patio is a smarter buy than a bigger one with a thinner base. Our paver cost guide explains what drives the numbers.

Can we start small and expand later?

Yes, and we design for it. Phase one is the core patio with edges planned for extension. Phase two adds a fire pit ring or grill pad on the same base spec, so the seam doesn't show.

How long does a patio take to build?

A modest patio usually takes a few working days: demolition and excavation, base compaction, screeding and laying, then edging and joint sand. We confirm the schedule in writing and leave the site safe each evening, with kids and pets in mind.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree for my patio or driveway?

In Largo, trees four inches or more in diameter and palms over 4.5 feet tall need a removal permit, and replacement may be required. We map trees during design and route the patio or driveway around them where we can.
